Food Pantry

Established in Spring 2022, the Food Pantry provides students, faculty, staff, and community members with supplemental support for basic grocery needs. In partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank, the Student Government Association and Campus Activities Board work collaboratively to ensure the pantry is kept stocked, clean, and organized for approved students to easily shop.

Eligibility to shop at the Food Pantry is determined based on household size & income. Individuals who receive SNAP benefits (food stamps) are automatically eligible to shop at the Food Pantry. Any student can submit the Food Pantry Eligibility Survey (scroll down to the bottom of the page), and a representative from LSU Eunice will email within 2-3 business days to confirm eligibility.

Approved individuals can shop once each month, starting at the first of the month and ending at the end of the month, and each person is given a certain number of bags depending on household size. Each person can fill up their allotted number of bags once each month.

LSU Eunice is able to order new items monthly from Second Harvest. Donated items arrive and are stocked on an ad hoc basis throughout the year. Expired items are periodically purged and disposed of by student volunteers in CAB and SGA. The more people that use the pantry, the more choices there will be.

Go to the Student Affairs Office during business hours (Mon-Fri 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM), and request to access the Food Pantry to shop. Student Affairs staff will ensure we have an approved application on file for you. If so, you'll be given a number of bags based on your household size, and you can access the pantry to shop. If not, you'll be asked to complete an application to verify your eligibility. 

The Food Pantry accepts donations of non-frozen, unexpired grocery items, personal hygiene products, paper products, etc. They can be brought to the Student Affairs Office any day/time during business hours.
