LSUE Awards Record Number of Degrees For 2023 Spring Commencement

EUNICE, La. – Louisiana State University Eunice saw a record number of graduates celebrate this weekend during commencement exercises this weekend. LSUE held two separate ceremonies as the Academy students were honored on Friday followed by the rest of the graduating class on Saturday.
In total, LSU Eunice awarded 259 degrees during the weekend, a new record for the school.
In addition to the number of graduates, LSUE saw an all-time best number of honor graduates cross the stage. LSUE awarded 52 students with Magna Cum Laude distinction for having a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5-3.79 and honored 28 Summa Cum Laude graduates for holding a cumulative grad-point average of 3.8-4.0.
There were also three military veterans recognized as graduates during the Saturday ceremony.
Louisiana State Senator Bob Hensgens delivered the keynote address during Saturday’s ceremony while LSUE Chancellor Dr. Nancee Sorenson spoke to the Academy graduates.
The degrees were conferred by LSU Board of Supervisor member Mary Leach Werner.
