Care and Development of Young Children

The Associate of Science in Care and Development of Young Children prepares students for employment in the early childhood education field. They also have the option to transfer to a senior college to complete a baccalaureate degree. The degree includes core courses, a sequence of professional courses, and a supervised practicum.

The goal of the program is to prepare knowledgeable and competent professionals who possess and demonstrate an understanding of developmentally appropriate teaching and learning, of childhood development, of curriculum development and implementation, of the role of the family and community in children’s development, and of assessment.
